Event Description :Great news for our local area with the Whitsunday MP Jan Jarratt being nominated a Minister in the new Queensland CabinetFormer school teacher , Jan Jarratt was first elected to politics as a member for Whitsunday in 2001 and has been re elected three times. Ms Jarratt recently spoke with John Nayler from Channel Whitsunday about her passion for Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday region Ms Jarratt is currently the Parliamentary Secretary for Employment and Economic Development and has now been designated the very important portfolio of Tourism. The reshuffle has come after Public Works Minister Robert Schwarten, Local Government Minister Desely Boyle and Tourism Minister Peter Lawlor announced they would return to the back bench and would not contest the next election. |
